Automobiles in Germany's City Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police stated they were notified by a individual who discovered a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Officers state they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish liquid.

The liquid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other marked cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials say initial examinations indicate the fluid was likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; officials are currently not aware of any harm in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials announced they were trying "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the public for details.

A senior representative said the vandalism left him speechless and required to be solved rapidly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he wrote on online, recalling the death of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
